NZ Strong aims to be New Zealand’s smartest construction company. That includes looking for smart product solutions to help the company’s teams design and build outstanding projects more efficiently. For solid timber weatherboard cladding, Jenkin A-lign meets NZ Strong’s demanding standards.

Greg and Toni Charteris know a lot about timber, so when they chose Jenkin A-lign for their new home in Karaka, we took that as a compliment.

Pat Coll and the team at Draftline in Timaru design great spaces for living – and a home they designed last year, clad in Jenkin A-lign, has been a winner for them.

Mike Hayward of Hayward Builders in Hamilton likes building with timber. He also likes his team to deliver a quality job, and inconsistent quality of timber cladding had become an issue.

"Don't build a house, build a Landmark."

That's the appeal from Landmark Homes to New Zealand home builders – and it's their brand's reputation for creating 'landmark' quality homes that attracted Wellington builder Braden Cameron to acquire a Landmark franchise.

"Just all round pleasurable to work with."

That is Te Anau builder Nathan Mirfin's conclusion on Jenkin A-lign. Nathan used Jenkin A-lign for the first time this year and is a convert.

Errol Ward describes himself as an 'old-time builder' with a special affection for timber houses.

"I worked in Queensland in the 1970s and really liked the traditional old timber Queenslanders," Errol says. "I like the original New Zealand villas as well. I've enjoyed working with timber throughout my life."

TIMARU – At Aoraki Polytechnic in Timaru the Certificate in Carpentry course (which covers all the theory for National Certificate in Carpentry) is helping young people find a way into the building industry. It’s an intensive one year course which blends theoretical and practical skills training – and includes the students building a house which is then sold on the open market.

HERNE BAY – The Gables in Auckland's Herne Bay was a much loved watering hole for Aucklanders for years, with a very loyal following. Brent Matchett, who replaced the original Gables this year with The Gables Speight's Ale House, was determined to create an outstanding new venue for this upmarket suburb, that would attract the same loyalty from the punters.

MT EDEN – The entry by Master Builder Niels Anderson of Kris Anderson Builders, was for a comprehensive renovation of a traditional wooden villa in Mt Eden. Niels is known around Auckland for the quality of his work. Respect for his experience and skill, from the homeowner and the architect, meant Niels was given free rein to choose the cladding for the job.
