A-lign takes timber to a new generation of builders and homeowners
Tim Arlott of Jennian Homes in Auckland builds fine timber weatherboard homes – and Jenkin A-lign has made the process a whole lot easier for Tim, and for customers who want the peace of mind and design flexibility offered by the timber tradition.
“A-lign is a complete system,” Tim says. “It’s very easy to manage on site, there’s minimal wastage and you get a really, really good finish. You just get a great result with it.”
The launch of A-lign has come at a good time for the building industry, Tim says.
“People are much more cautious now about the cladding that goes on their houses, and the way their houses are constructed. They want traditional building methods because they trust them, and they want something that will perform over the long-term in terms of durability and looks. So I’m seeing more of my clients moving back to timber weatherboards.”
While the long established history of timber weatherboard performance appeals, Tim says clients also like the classic look of timber.
“People want a house that looks as good in five years as it did when it was first built, and that’s what they get with timber weatherboards. That’s good when it comes to resale. A timber weatherboard home will always sell.”
