Jenkin A-lign has gone rusticated

At Broadmeadows in Wellington, Kevin Shoebridge has built Jon and Raylene Muller a contemporary home with a traditional look. The cladding is rusticated Jenkin A-lign.

“We like traditional homes,” Jon Muller says. “We chose timber because it has been around for a long time, and it’s solid. We were also aware of issues with other types of cladding.”

Once the decision to use timber had been made, Jon, Raylene and Kevin found Jenkin A-lign
an easy choice.

“Jon and Raylene really liked the whole A-lign package of scribers, boxed corners, two coats of paint,”
Kevin says. “Just the whole way it slotted together.”

It was Kevin’s first experience using Jenkin A-lign and he found the product easy to use. He also liked the Jenkin service – some issues with a batch of scribers was speedily resolved.

“We chose timber because it has been around
for a long time, and it’s solid. We were also aware of issues with other types of cladding.”

“Kevin was the first builder to use our rusticated Jenkin A-lign,” says Jenkin’s business development
manager Tom Padden. “A-lign is designed to give a joinery finish so we process for an exact fit and we’d gone just a millimetre too tight. We eased it back a millimetre and the problem was solved.”
For Kevin, his overall experience with the product was excellent.

“It’s up now, and it’s looking good.”

For Jon and Raylene, the house is exactly what they were looking for.

“We wanted a house that had something of the look of the original Thorndon villas, with dormer windows, and that is what we have. We’re very pleased with it.”

Kevin is now using bevelback A-lign on his next job, reflecting both his and his clients’ preference for a product that makes it easy to achieve high quality timber weatherboard cladding.

Kevin estimates he has helped with reclads for around 40 leaky houses, and so he has seen first hand the financial and emotional cost for homeowners when a building fails to live up to standards. His choice of Jenkin A-lign is a mark of trust in timber, the cladding system, and the manufacturer.
Thanks for that Kevin!
